An invitation to algebraic geometry via plane curves
Abstract: This talk aims to give an introduction to some key ideas in algebraic geometry, including intersections, projective space, tangent spaces, and singularities, via concrete examples of plane curves. The only prerequisite is understanding of the derivative.
