Laura P. Schaposnik is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Illinois Chicago. She earned her PhD at the University of Oxford and has been recognized with prestigious awards including a Simons Foundation Fellowship, a Presidential Award, a Humboldt Fellowship, an NSF CAREER Award, and multiple NSF grants. Her research spans geometry, topology, and mathematical physics, with a focus on Higgs bundles and their applications across mathematics and physics, as well as applications of geometry to the natural world.
Research Interests:
Geometric aspects of Higgs bundles and the Hitchin fibration, as well as mathematical physics, and differential and algebraic geometry.
