- Fri Sep 26: There will be a 15 minute quiz
at the end of the Friday class on Chapter 2 and the beginning of Chapter 3
. It will count as 1 homework assignment; I will grade it myself.
- Let us make the homework requirements explicit:
- points shall be deduced for
- incorrect solutions, insufficient
arguments
- no staple
- "style" (i.e. illegible
or barely legible handwriting, unclear presentation, notes irrelevant
to solutions, etc.)
- there shall be no deduction for, but
it is suggested that:
- your homework looks as neat as possible
- if you use notebook paper, make
sure there are no remnants of perforation hanging loose

- Mon Sep 15: Apparently the web-server was
down over the weekend, so many people could not download the homework assignment.
Due to these emergency circumstances, the due date for HW has been moved to
Wed Sep 17.
I was assured that the probability of this happening again in the future is
rather low.
