Developed (with C. Tier), and taught a 2-quarter sequence of graduate
courses (484, 485 - Introduction to Applied Analysis)
on differential equations as applied to physical
problems, 1981.

Designed and taught (in 1976, 1979, 1983-84, and 1987) a graduate course
in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics for mathematics and engineering students.
My text, ``An Introduction to the Mathematical Theory of Geophysical Fluid
Dynamics,'' Vol. 41 of North-Holland Mathematics Studies,
was partially based on these courses and one taught at
Oxford Univ. in 1977-78.

Conducted the U.I.C. Applied Mathematics Seminar as a series of
lectures by professors at U.I.C., Northwestern University and the
University of Chicago; graduate students participated and received
credit for the seminar.

Organized and gave seminars at U.I.C. on different topics in fluid
dynamics to promote interest in applied mathematics in the mathematics
community.

Currently serves as Course Coordinator for Math 322 and 323 (Elementary
Partial Differential Equations).
