Some notes on homework for week #2 Fri 11 Sept 98 (REVISED, 5sept06, taking account of *7th* edition of Leon text) (I'll just do a quick text file, it won't look as pretty as my usual TeX formatting) Sec 1.2, #17: The previously incorrect answer (in earlier editions, (1,3,6,6) was given in the answers in back) has now been corrected to (2,3,12,6); so not a problem any more... Sec 1.2, #20c: It looks like the 7th edition has also corrected the problem here: Previous editions had the top battery in the order large plate on left, small plate on right with current i_1 flowing to the right---which contradicts the convention page 21 that (positive) current flows out of the end with the large plate. But this edition has the order small plate on left, large plate on right so that current i_1 flowing to the right DOES agree with the convention on page 21. Thus now the picture leads to an equation system that DOES give the answer in the back of the book, namely (2,0,-2,-2,0,2).
